Krav Maga
A practical and tactical system which teaches how to prevent, deal and overcome all kinds of violence and attacks. Krav Maga prepares the trainees in the subjects of self-defense, self-protection, fighting and combative skills, as well as skills to defend others, all in unique and comprehensive teachings. Krav Maga is a linear system as opposed to many martial arts which are circular in nature. Krav Maga is easy to learn and more importantly retain as it is based on principles and methodologies not techniques, there are hundreds of potential knife attacks meaning hundreds of different techniques to learn in a traditional system. Under stress the mind can become confused and consequently freeze under severe stress so Krav Maga is based on instinctive reactions which do not require cognitive thought.
Krav Maga training prepares students to deal with the worst case scenarios. The system is designed so that the set of principles which are the fundaments of every technique apply to several potential attacks/scenarios. It is because of this approach that trainees reach a high level of proficiency, mentally and technically, in a relatively short time. Krav-Maga is a modern method characterized by a logical and practical approach. It is an easy to perform, natural, and effective system featuring simple movements and “reflexive” behavior.
The ultimate goal is to keep the trainee safe from harm and to give him or her the ability, confidence and security to defend themselves effectively.
Awareness
Using basic techniques in various combinations, students develop an awareness and ability to defend against surprise attacks, often through the modification of material and improvisation. Combat training generates implicit awareness and sensitivity in the everyday interactions that take place on the street.
Confidence
Krav Maga does not exclusively rely on strength or power; in true self-defense situations the attacker will be bigger, stronger and better prepared for conflict; from the outset students are trained to strike vulnerable targets rather than trying to match opponent strength against strength. Students are constantly amazed by the pride and empowerment that accompany training in Krav Maga.
Physical Fitness
Our training programs challenge students to realize their physical fitness goals, and allow them to exceed their expectations. Differences in personal conditioning and ability are respected, and each student is encouraged to maximize his or her own unique capability, with a focus on speed, endurance, and accuracy. Through Krav Maga training, all students develop the coordination necessary for effective self-defense.
