Do I need previous martial arts experience to take Krav Maga?
Absolutely not! Many martial arts are technique orientated and require years of training. Krav Maga is a principle based system and is focused on instinctive movements which don’t require thought. What IS required is your drive and determination. Even though classes are in a group setting you will receive individual attention from our instructors so that you can progress at your own pace.
Are these classes just for men or just for women?
No, Krav Maga is designed for realistic self-defense training. The predatory nature of violence means that men and women will have to be able to protect themselves in all situations and against larger, stronger, faster and more skilled attackers. Stress training is a very important component to Krav Maga so training with mixed classes is imperative for success.
Can my child train with me?
For safety reasons the youngest student we accept in our adult program is approximately 14 and that is on a case-by-case basis. Our training is very intense and sometimes covers mature subject matter that may be sensitive to younger students. Children under 14 can participate in our youth program and will advance to adult classes when they are physically and mentally prepared.
Will I get hurt training Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is as safe as any other martial arts or self-defense training. With all physical activities injuries can occur.
